March 2009

Smiley girl!
Avery has discovered her feet! She grabs them when she's on the floor and rolls around.

This is Avery's favorite toy. Anything she can get in her mouth is her favorite right now. She is exploring everything with her mouth. She is so smart!

Avery has the coolest pants. Everyone thinks they are too striped. But then you have to know the story of the candy cane striped maternity pants Janet sewed when she was pregnant with Brianna. It is true what they say: tragedy plus time equals comedy!

This is Avery in her "Chiropractic Assistant" shirt. The lady who supplies our office uniforms gave it to Avery when she came home. She finally has grown into it.

Avery's first Valentine's day. Great Grandma Fillmore had a family tradition of leaving a gift at each of her children's place at the breakfast table on Valentine's day. They had a large family of nine children also. We adopted this tradition when the first children were small. The kids were almost as excited for Valentine's day as they were for Christmas. Their anticipation is contagious. We all look forward to Valentine's day. Avery is a little drooly so this was the perfect occasion for a new bib!

Aaron and Avery playing together one morning.
Avery is having a taste of her "moose" coat.

Snuggle time with Stephen.
This was Christmas morning. The kids slept in until about 6a.m. They are all WIDE awake.

Family "Team" Picture

In January we had some pictures shot for a project that we have been working on for the office. The photographer came to our house and created a "studio" in our living room. It was a fun morning. It took a lit bit to get some of the younger ones to control their urge to clown around for the camera. Here are a few of the pictures from the shoot
We were having fun taking this one. One of Brad's patients has an embroidery shop and we had her make team shirts for us with vinyl letters. Now we just need to find a sport to play together!
All of the girls. Avery has her shirt turned backwards because it got spit up on it.

Weekend

Sunday morning. Avery is dressed and ready to go. Madeline is keeping her entertained until we get in the car.
Avery in her car seat. (She still needs cinched up and her hat put on.) She is smiley this morning. She likes riding in the car once we get going.
I just laid Avery down for her afternoon nap. She was tired after being out all morning. When I look at her sleeping, or sometimes when we are playing, my heart skips a beat and I catch my breath. She is an angel and I love her so much!

Weekend

Saturday night bathtime. This is still one of Avery's favorite things. She loves playing in the water. She is starting to splash a little bit, besides just kicking. Just before her bath, Avery gave us her first real laugh (without being tickled.) Stephen was pulling faces and trying to make Avery smile. She laughed and laughed.
Getting dried off in the fishy towel. This has been the bath towel of choice for the past four years at our house. Avery is beginning to really interact with us. We love how she smiles when we talk with her. She gurgles and coos. We love all the sweet things she says to us.
Time to fill her tummy. Baths always make Avery hungry. It is almost bedtime so this is her last snack before bed.
One last diaper change for the night.
